Albert Ojwang Case: Officer's Allegations Renew Calls for Eliud Lagat Investigation

The investigation into the death of Albert Ojwang has taken a turn. This is because James Mukwana, the police officer who was in charge of the Occurrence Book desk on the day Albert Ojwang died has given a statement to investigators. He said he got a phone call from Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat. Eliud Lagat told James Mukwana to discipline Albert Ojwang when he arrived.

James Mukwanas statement is now a part of the Albert Ojwang case. It has made a lot of people talk about what happened when Albert Ojwang died.

The allegations against Eliud Lagat have made some Kenyans, civil groups and politicians ask for him to be investigated. They want him to be prosecuted if there is evidence. They think anyone who had a role in what happened to Albert Ojwang should be held responsible.

It does not matter what their job is. Eliud Lagat has said he did nothing. The courts still have to decide if he is guilty or not. No court has found Eliud Lagat guilty of any crime.

The Albert Ojwang case is still getting a lot of attention over the country. People are watching what is happening in the investigations and, in court. Many Kenyans want the courts to be fair and transparent when dealing with the Albert Ojwang case.
