People in Taita Taveta were really excited to see Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna at a Linda Mwananchi rally. They were shouting "President! President!" which makes people think he might run for president in the 2027 General Election.
When Edwin Sifuna was talking to the people at the rally some of them started shouting and asking him to be president. Edwin Sifuna was happy to see people were so excited. He did not say he wants to be president or that he will try to be president.
The Linda Mwananchi movement is traveling around the country to talk to people about important issues like the cost of living and jobs. They want to hear what people think and get their support. At the rally they also asked people to support Wundanyi MP Danson Mwashako, who they think should be the governor of Taita Taveta in the 2027 elections.
The fact that people were so excited to see Edwin Sifuna shows that he is getting more popular. The Linda Mwananchi movement is trying to get people on their side around the country.
Some people who know about politics say that just because people shout a persons name at a rally it does not mean that person will run for president.. It does show that people like that person. As the 2027 General Election gets closer people in politics will try to visit all the counties and talk to people to get their support. The Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and other leaders, like him will probably do the thing.
