Murkomen Hits Back at Gachagua Over Calls for Inquest Into High-Profile Deaths

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has given a strong response to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He says Gachagua is using the deaths of Kenyans to get attention for his politics.

Murkomen did not agree with Gachaguas statements. He said Gachagua should not be asking for investigations into the deaths of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla and former Nominated MP Johanna Ng'eno.

Murkomen was very upset about what Gachagua said about Johanna Ng'enos death. He said Gachagua is spreading ideas that're not true about the plane crash that killed Ng'eno. This crash happened than five months ago.

  • Preliminary findings said the crash was because of weather.
  • People who live in Chepkiep, Nandi County, where the pilot had to make an emergency landing said the weather was very bad.

Murkomen said Gachaguas idea that bad fuel may have caused the crash is not correct. He said his ministry does not control the fuel used for airplanes or how they are transported.

Murkomen wants Gachagua to tell everyone who he is talking about. He wants to know about the people Gachagua says were involved in some activities with a vehicle and jet fuel. He also wants to know about a driver who was arrested by Kenya Revenue Authority officials.

Murkomen says Gachagua did not give this information to the investigators or to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

Murkomen also said Gachagua did not talk to Ng'enos family after he died. He wants to know why Gachagua is now talking about Ng'enos death during his activities.

This is an increase in the fight between Gachagua and high-ranking government officials. It started when Gachagua asked for investigations into the deaths of some people.

  1. He is questioning what happened to them.
  2. He wants to know the truth.

Murkomens statement is just his response and what he thinks about the situation. Gachaguas claims are just that. Claims. They need to be proven with evidence and investigated.

This fight is likely to get worse as the 2027 General Election gets closer. The deaths of people are now part of a big argument, between Gachagua and the Kenya Kwanza administration. Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua are not agreeing on what happened to these people.
