"Not A Personality Contest": Matiang'i Tells Mt Kenya Aspirants As Jubilee Builds 2027 War Machine.

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary and Jubilee Party presidential candidate Fred Matiangi has taken his 2027 mobilization drive to the heart of Mt Kenya, hosting a high-level consultative meeting with aspirants from the region at the Jumuia Conference and Country Home in Limuru, Kiambu County

The gathering, which included Jubilee Deputy Party Leader Jeremiah Kioni, was described as candid and forward-looking, focusing on how to strengthen the party and build a formidable national political movement

Matiangi's message was clear: the 2027 contest cannot be reduced to a battle of personalities or political convenience, but must be about the direction of the country and the quality of leadership Kenyans choose . He emphasized the need to restore integrity, competence, and accountability to public service, arguing that leadership must understand the challenges facing ordinary people and be prepared to make difficult decisions

This comes as the Jubilee Party, under the stewardship of former President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been undergoing significant reorganization, with Matiangi officially stamped as Deputy Party Leader and the party's presidential flagbearer

The Limuru meeting is part of a broader strategy to reconnect with voters and strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the next electoral cycle . Matiangi has also sought to distance himself from speculation about joining President William Ruto's administration, insisting his political future remains tied to Jubilee

With the country facing a leadership crisis and economic hardships, Matiangi's message of a "new political conversation" and a "new sense of purpose" appears to be resonating, as Jubilee continues its aggressive engagement with leaders and communities across the nation
