Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan Sign Mecca Joint Defence Agreement

Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan have made an agreement to work together on defence. This means they will cooperate closely on security issues. They signed this agreement in Mecca on Friday, August 7 2026.

If one of these countries is attacked the other two will consider it an attack on all of them. This is part of the agreement. The three countries want to work more in areas like defence, military technology sharing intelligence and fighting terrorism. They say this agreement is for defence only and does not mean they are forming a military group.

This agreement is important because the Middle East is a region right now. There is a war involving Iran and Saudi Arabia and its neighboursre worried about security. Saudi officials think Iranian-backed groups might attack them.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia already have an agreement to defend each other, which they signed in 2025. They have been talking to Türkiye about working for months. Now Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan have agreed to work

These three countries are important because they have military and strategic abilities. Saudi Arabia has a lot of money and energy Türkiye makes a lot of defence equipment. Is part of NATO and Pakistan has a big military and nuclear weapons. This new agreement will likely change the security situation, in the Middle East and the wider Muslim world.
