Motorists planning to travel along the Rironi-Mau Summit route should prepare for a new toll fee of SH 8 per kilometer, Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) has announced.
The toll fee aims to facilitate maintenance and improvement of the road, ensuring safer and more reliable transportation for users. Kenha officials emphasized that the revenue collected will go directly into road upkeep, thereby enhancing the infrastructure.
Commuters and transport operators have expressed mixed reactions, with some appreciating the investment in road quality, while others are concerned about increased travel costs.
The toll collection is set to commence soon, with Kenha urging motorists to plan accordingly and adhere to the new fee structure.
