A group of people believed to be from Al-Shabaab carried out planned attacks in Lafey Constituency, Mandera County. The attacks caused gunfire, fear and quick actions from the security forces.
From reports the attackers hit several places making people leave their homes as security workers arrived to control the situation.
People who saw the attacks said they heard a lot of gunfire. Many people tried to stay safe while the attacks happened. Security workers went to the places that were attacked and worked to stop the attackers and bring back peace.
Officials have not yet said how many people were hurt or how much damage was done. Security groups are still looking at what happened and trying to find the people who did it.
This event shows that there are still security problems, in some parts of northeastern Kenya. Al-Shabaab fighters are known to attack across the border targeting regular people, security workers and buildings.
People living in the area have been told to watch out help the security teams and tell them about anything as the operations go on.
The National Police Service and other security groups will probably share news as the investigation continues and more facts are found.
