What Your Urine Color Says About Your Health

The color of your urine can give you hints about how much water you're drinking and how your body is doing. It changes naturally now and then. If it stays different for a long time it might be a good idea to talk to a doctor.

Light yellow or golden is usually a sign that you are drinking water and that your body is working properly.

If your urine is dark yellow or looks like amber it might mean you need to drink water. Not drinking water is one of the most common reasons for dark urine.

If your urine is clear it could mean you're drinking much water. This is usually not a problem. If it happens all the time it might mean you're drinking more than you should.

Orange urine can happen when you're not drinking water or from some medicines or foods. In some cases it might also mean there's a problem with your liver or the tubes that carry bile especially if your stools are pale or your skin looks yellow.

If your urine is pink or red it might be from foods like beets or berries.. It could also mean there's blood in your urine. This should be checked by a doctor especially if theres no food that explains it.

Brown urine can happen when you're very dehydrated or from some medicines or liver issues. Working out a lot can sometimes make urine dark brown too. It should be checked if it comes with muscle pain or weakness.

Cloudy or bubbly urine might not be a deal but if it keeps happening it could mean you have an infection in your urinary tract problems with your kidneys or too much protein in your urine.

Even though urine color can give some clues it's not enough to know for sure what's wrong. If you see a color thats not normal and it lasts than a day or two or if it comes with pain a fever, blood or trouble going to the bathroom you should see a doctor.

Staying. Watching for changes, in your body are easy ways to help your health and find problems early.
