Duale Defends 2027 Election Date, Warns 2026 Poll Would Cut Leaders' Terms Short

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale says the next General Election in Kenya should be held in 2027. He thinks that having the election in 2026 would be too early. This is because the people we elect get to be in office for five years. They should be able to finish their five years before we vote again.

Aden Duale made these comments because some people are talking about whether the election should be earlier. Some politicians and experts are wondering if we can have the election before 2027.

Aden Duale says we should stick to the plan and have the election in 2027. He does not think we should change when we have elections.

The last General Election in Kenya was on August 9 2022. That is when William Ruto became president. Now the next election is set for August 2027.

People are already getting ready for the 2027 election. Political parties and leaders are preparing. There are questions about what the constitution says and how long the people we elect get to be in office. We will probably keep talking about these things as we get closer to the election. The General Election in Kenya is important. People have different ideas, about when it should happen. The General Election should be held in 2027 according to Aden Duale.
