President William Ruto has told the Ministry of Education to give KSh5 million to every school, college and university that performed at the Kenya Music Festival State Concert. This concert was held at State Lodge in Bungoma.
30 schools that took part in this big concert will get some money. The total amount of money they will get is likely to be than KSh150 million.
President Ruto wants to reward schools for their talent and creativity. He said this money is for the work of the students, teachers and schools. It will also help improve the places where students can learn music, drama and other creative things.
"As a show of gratitude and appreciation for your hard work and talent, provide KSh5 million for every institution and every school that has participated here," the President said.
President Ruto said the money should be used to make the schools better for music, drama and other creative things. He thinks that helping students develop their talents should be important for Kenyas economy.
He has plans to help the creative economy. He wants to start a Kenya National Talent Search. This will be a program that will find and help young people who are good at music, comedy, acting and other creative things.
He also told some government offices to work to make this program happen. Deputy President Kithure Kindiki will make sure everything goes smoothly.
President William Ruto also said that the government will support teachers and students. The Teachers Service Commission promoted 1,000 teachers who help students with activities. President William Ruto wants to recognize the teachers who help students develop their talents.
President William Ruto said that students should be able to choose the courses they want no matter how money they have.
The KSh5 million grants are a deal. They show that the government wants to help schools that're good at music and other creative things. President William Ruto wants to make sure that creative arts are just as important, as achievement.
