Villagers Smash Transformer After Cow Dies from Electrocution in India

Angry villagers in Madhya Pradesh, India, vandalised an electricity transformer and nearby power poles after a cow was electrocuted, allegedly due to power leakage from the transformer.

The incident sparked outrage among residents, who blamed negligence by the electricity department for the animal's death. Videos circulating online showed dozens of people using sticks and poles to repeatedly strike the transformer in protest.

The attack damaged the transformer and disrupted electricity supply in the area, prompting police to rush to the scene and restore order.

According to reports, the protest ended after electricity department officials assured residents that the damaged transformer would be repaired and that the cow's owner would receive compensation for the loss.

The incident has attracted widespread attention online, highlighting concerns about electrical safety and infrastructure maintenance in rural areas, where faulty power equipment can pose risks to both people and animals.
