Spain are world champions again after they beat Argentina one to zero in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final. This was a tense game that went into extra time. Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the one hundred and sixth minute. This gave Spain their World Cup title and ended Argentinas time as champions.
The game was played in front of a lot of people at the New York New Jersey Stadium. It was a battle from the start. Spain had the ball most of the time. Had some good chances to score.. Argentinas defence and their goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez kept the score zero to zero until the end of normal time.
It looked like the game was going to be decided by penalties.. Then Spain scored. Nico Williams helped keep the ball alive. Then Ferran Torres scored from range. This made the Spanish players and fans very happy.
Argentina had a time after Enzo Fernández was sent off the field late in the game. They had to play with ten men in time. Even though they tried hard Lionel Messi and his teammates could not score against Spains strong defence.
This win is a deal for Spain. They beat France in the semi-finals. Then Argentina in the final. Under their coach Luis de la Fuente Spain have had a lot of success in football. They won the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This shows that Spain are one of the football teams again.
For Argentina this loss is very sad. They were the champions before. They made it to the final again.. They could not keep the trophy. They lost to a Spain team that was patient and strong when it mattered.
Ferran Torres goal in time will be remembered for a long time. It was an important goal that helped Spain win the game. Now Spain is at the top of world football again. Spain are world champions. That is a big deal for Spain. The FIFA World Cup 2026 title is a win, for Spain.
