Nyakera Switches From Nairobi Governor Race to Makadara MP Contest

Irungu Nyakera, who used to be the leader of the Kenya International Convention Centre has decided not to run for the position of Nairobi governor. He now says he will try to win the seat in the Makadara area during the 2027 General Election.

Nyakera said he made this choice after talking with Rigathi Gachagua, and with people who live in Makadara. These people told him they thought he should try for the seat instead.

This is a change in what Nyakera wanted to do politically. It is happening at a time when people who support Gachagua are getting ready for the 2027 elections.

He said the talks he had made him believe he could do good by working in the National Assembly for the people of Makadara. He wants to focus on the problems that affect the people who live there.

Gachagua is becoming more powerful in politics. This announcement shows that Gachagua is still trying to create a political group before 2027. He has been one of the people who speak out against President William Ruto.

Nyakera has been more and more connected to Gachaguas work. His new choice is probably making people talk about what Gachagua's planning to do in Nairobi.

The race for the Makadara seat is getting more interesting. Political parties are starting to choose who will run for that seat.

By changing from the governor race to the race Nyakera is entering a different type of competition. This leaves the governor race open as parties try to get ready, for 2027.

His choice is adding more to the list of changes happening in politics around the country. Leaders are making decisions as the time for the next General Election gets closer.
